The programme includes music from soundtracks of iconic movies such as Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Chicago, The Lion King, and James Bond. Guest artists include violinist Nicci Botha, vocalists Mary-Jane Zimri, and Emil Struwig, and students from Northlink College and Milton’s Dance Studio.

The adult CPWE, established by the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra (CPO) in 2021 to provide opportunities for semi-professional musicians and advanced amateurs to perform wind music on a high level, will take to the stage on Monday June 19 at the Hofmeyr Hall at SACS high school in Rondebosch.
The musicians, who are all trained specialists, though some are also specialists in other fields like medicine and law, will also be conducted by Faan Malan. They will play Overture in C by Felix Mendelssohn specifically for wind instruments, the evocative Scenes from the Louvre by Norman Dello-Joio, Allan Stephenson’s DF Overture, commissioned by D F Malan High School in 1999, Yiddish Dances by Adam Gorb and Capriccio by Frigyes Hidas.
Tickets for this concert are at the door at R120 for adults and R100 for pupils. The curtain will be raised by SACS very own wind ensemble conducted by Levi Alexander.
