Children’s writer visits Rosebank school

Children’s author KA Mulenga reads his books to the young pupils of Sunny Side Montessori Pre-primary in Rosebank.

Children’s author Kalenga Augustine Mulenga, 46, visited Sunny Side Montessori Pre-primary in Rosebank, on Thursday August 18, and read two of his books to the children.

The Johannesburg writer read Polly the Polecat and The Weaver Birds to the young children. “When I go out and do the book readings, it really makes my day. I like seeing the children enjoying the books as the books are for them,” he said.

Mulenga left two of his books, Spike and Spud the Space Boys and Will and His Best Friend Whale, at the school.

Sunny Side Montesorri principal Caitlin Munnik said it had been wonderful for the children to meet the author. “It’s special for them,” she said.
