The Youth Unemployment Prevention Project (YUPP) held its ninth annual Post School Opportunities Seminar at the Lydia Centre in District Six on Tuesday February 14. YUPP runs a walk-in service at the centre for youth seeking assistance with employment, education, training and funding opportunities. Former finance minister Trevor Manuel, pictured, was one of the keynote speakers at the seminar. He encouraged youth to take up the opportunities provided by YUPP. Lorenzo Davids, CEO of Community Chest, provided youth with a 15 point plan for success, and also offered bursaries to the 2016 matriculants. Matriculants of 2016 and school leavers who are still seeking employment, education, training or funding opportunities, can WhatsApp or SMS their details and requests to 079 622 0934, or email yuppwhatsapp@gmail.com, to make an appointment.
