Applications for the 2023 Mandela Washington Fellowship, a programme of the American government’s Young African Leaders Initiative, are open until Tuesday September 13.
Established in 2014, the fellowship has brought almost 5 800 young leaders from every country in sub-Saharan Africa to America for academic and leadership training.
The fellows, aged 25 to 35, are accomplished innovators and leaders in their communities and countries.
Those selected will spend six weeks, from June to July, at American universities exploring issues of leadership along with 700 of their peers from across sub-Saharan Africa.
Fellows will also be able to explore industries beyond their daily work; attend a summit with young African leaders in Washington; and meet American government, civic, and business leaders.
