Munyaradzi Nhidza is the new president of the Groote Schuur Lions Club.
The 23-year-old CPUT biotechnology student from District Six was inducted during a ceremony in Table View last month. He takes over from Sharon Wright.
He has been a member of the club for two years and has helped with several projects, including diabetes testing, hunger support and visits to the elderly.
“I am looking forward to leading various projects and continuing the Groote Schuur Lion Club’s commitment to serving the community,” he said.
The club has 11 members and meets at Belmont bridge, next to Rondebosch library, every third Wednesday of the month at 7pm.
