Western Province scrumhalf Lauren Adams was instrumental in the women's team’s emphatic 52-7 victory over Boland at the Hawston sports ground on Saturday.

The 33-year-old Grassy Park resident might not have been on the score sheet but she played a dynamic role in speeding up the game to enable her teammates to run in eight tries in the national Premier League match.

“I would like to believe that the level of intensity is high. It might not be at the same level of the men’s game, but I believe that we play at very high level at a woman’s level. I love the sport for this intensity and competitiveness,” said the former touch rugby specialist.
