The Western Province Chinese Association celebrated the Chinese New Year last Sunday at its venue in Observatory. The actual day of the Chinese New Year was last Tuesday, February 5. This is the “Year of the Pig”. More than 450 guests, many from the Chinese community, attended the function. They enjoyed Chinese food and tea and were entertained by the Hua Xing Arts Group which performed a dragon dance and played the drums.
