The Ottery-based Animal Rescue Organisation(ARO) hosted a charity fund-raiser at the Wild Fig Restaurant in Observatory last Friday, September 9.

More than 90 guests attended, with all proceeds raised going towards taking care of animals which need medical attention.

ARO fundraiser, Lindsey Concer said the lunch was an important part of their fundraising plan, not only to raise much-needed funds for their animal hospital, but also to touch base with their regular donors.

“This event gives us an opportunity to let those who support us know where their donations have gone, and educate newcomers on the work that ARO does in the community,” she said.

To make a donation, visit animalrescue.org.za or contact Lindsey Concer at lindsey@animalrescue.org.za or 061 455 0200.

Guest speaker, Courtney van Vuuren who is an associate attorney and conveyancer with a Fish Hoek-based law firm addresses the guests.
Interactive exhibits and marine animal welfare specialist at the Two Oceans Aquarium, Claire Taylor also spoke at the event.
