Former Claremont and Newlands residents who were forced out of the neighbourhoods under apartheid took part in their second Walk of Remembrance on Heritage Day on Saturday September 24. The walk was organised by the St Saviour’s Anglican Church of Claremont and the Claremont Main Road Mosque. The walk started at the church, proceeded through Ardene Gardens where various guest speakers spoke on its history, and ended at Claremont civic centre.
