UCT will hold a golf day to help raise funds for vice-chancellor Mamokgethi Phakeng’s Academic Scholarship Fund.
It will take place at Steenberg Golf Club, on Friday November 4, with a variety of players, from active golfers to corporates and managers. This is the second leg of the golf day; the first was held in Johannesburg in September.
The scholarship fund is aimed at financially deserving South African women postgraduates studying science, technology, engineering and maths (Stem) subjects at UCT. The scholarship funds the beneficiaries for the whole year and provides everything they need so that they can focus on their studies.
The golf day’s organiser Khaya Jack said: “The focus of this year’s inaugural golf day campaign is dedicated to deserving female students.
“The golf day is an excellent marketing opportunity for your business. It exposes your company brand, name and demonstrates your support to higher education and sport.”
