Glitz and glamour at King’s Plate

Jodi Scholtz from Claremont, middle, was chosen as the best-dressed woman at the King’s Plate fashion show. With her are third-place winner Pamela Vena, of Kuils River, left, and runner-up Nondi Beattie from Johannesburg.

Thousands dressed in white and blue for the King’s Plate horse race at the Kenilworth Racecourse on Saturday January 7. There were prizes for the best-dressed men and women as well as for the best hats.

Nikita Tessendorf from Somerset West and Chris Cushway from Gardens add some glamour to an Isetta microcar.

Allan Smith from New Orleans, in America, was runner-up in the “best hat” competition.

Runner-up for best-dressed man, Michael Press, from Woodstock, with his guest, Oyama Botha from Walmer Estate.
