The St Thomas’s Anglican Church in Rondebosch hosted an art exhibition on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The exhibition of some 50 works by artists with varying degrees of experience was organised by church parishioner Peter Hyslop.
Watercolour artist Andy Wood, 62, from Mowbray, says he enjoys capturing the essence of the Cederberg, Chapman’s Peak and Table Mountain.Vine School art teacher Philippa Versfeld, 39, from Claremont, says she takes inspiration from nature and, from the age of 12, she used to practise her art from drawing birds from a bird book.Springfield Convent Grade 11 pupil Alyssa van Rensburg, from Claremont, with her two oil-on-canvas paintings. “I would like all the viewers of my art to take a feeling and emotion with them,” she says.UCT architecture student Bulelani Ngqukuvana, 24, from Claremont, says he wants his art to start a conversation. “A lot of art I do I see it in dreams,” he says.
