Ladles of Love supporter Jenny Hall won a set of luxury cookware.
Jenny Hall, 74, of Claremont, has won a set of luxury cookware in the Ladles of Love Fill-A-Pot competition.
The non-profit organisation, which provides meals to the poor, ran the competition during the festive season, asking the public to donate R300 towards filling a pot to feed 100 people.
Through the competition, Ladles of Love managed to provide more than 200 000 meals to the needy during January, according to Ladles of Love founder Danny Diliberto.
Ms Hall was announced as the winner on Wednesday January 10 following a lucky draw.
She has supported Ladles of Love since the beginning of the 2020 pandemic. “They are doing amazing work, and they allow any volunteer to come on board and help in making meals,” she said.
She said she was thrilled with her new cookware and looked forward to using it to prepare meals.
“I entered this competition around Christmas to help Ladles of Love spread love during that time,” she said.
Mr Diliberto said: “Every pot filled with food is an act of kindness and over 210 000 acts of kindness made one huge impact of love. Together we touched the lives of families in need with respect and dignity at a time of despair.”
