Patric Solomons, director of  Molo Songololo, is using his 64th birthday to raise funds for the children's rights organisation.

Molo Songololo, founded in 1979, has its head office in Observatory and provides services including support to victims of child abuse, protection against human trafficking and exploitation, child and youth empowerment, and capacity building to other service providers.

The non-profit has been facing a financial crisis and is running a campaign to raise R250 000 to continue their work (“Help Molo Songololo uphold children's rights”, Tatler, March 27).

Mr Solomons says their goal is to raise around R50 000 from his birthday bash. While his actual birthday is on Saturday April 26, the fund-raiser will be held on Friday April 25 at their head office at 46 Trill Road, from 4pm until 8pm.

Mr Solomons is selling raffle tickets for a beauty products hamper at R100 per ticket and is inviting the public to join their bash. Visitors can bring and share snacks and drinks. Entertainment will be provided. RSVP by emailing melda@molo.org.za or WhatsApp 079 524 0621.
