The South African Guide Dogs Association paid a special visit to Heatherton House in Plumstead on Wednesday, July 30.
Toni Erasmus from the Association’s marketing team was joined by puppy raiser Jill Rumbelow, guide dog handler Ann Greeff, and her guide dog, Goldie.
They spent the morning teaching learners about the time, care and dedication it takes to train guide dogs and match them with the right handlers.
Goldie quickly became the star of the day, winning everyone over with her friendly nature and love of attention.
Heatherton House is a cottage school for neurodiverse teens, offering support in a non-academic setting. For more information, contact Janet on 082 642 8381.
