Rustenburg Girls’ High School received third prize for the Top Performing Public Ordinary School in Quintile 5 in the National Education Excellence Awards that took place last Friday, August 29, at the Sandton Convention Centre.
The Rondebosch-based all-girls school finished runner-up to Hoёr Meisieskool Bloemhof in first place and Rhenish Girls’ High School in second place, which are both located in Stellenbosch.
Principal of Rustenburg Girls’, Michael Gates, who attended the awards, said that they are incredibly proud that their school has been ranked third nationally in the Quintile 5 category at the National Education Excellence Awards.
“This recognition is a reflection of the dedication of our staff, the hard work of our learners, and the unwavering support of our parents and community,” he said.
Mr Gates said they will continue to build on this achievement by empowering their pupils to excel, innovate, and lead with empathy, kindness, and integrity, to contribute meaningfully to their community.
