The new school year got underway across the province on Wednesday, January 14. Provincial MEC for Education David Maynier said some 1.2 million pupils returned to classrooms, including 73 000 new Grade R pupils and 102 000 Grade 1s taking their first steps into formal schooling. The Tatler captured a few of those first-day moments at The Vine School and St George’s Grammar School.
