Claremont Community Policing Forum (CPF) was placed third for Best Partnership with police at the Western Cape Provincial Community Police Board Prestige Awards held at Fish Hoek Civic Centre on Saturday, January 24. They finished as runners-up to Table View CPF in first place and Khayelitsha CPF in second.
Claremont CPF chairperson, Carla Williams, said they are pleased to receive an excellence award for Best Partnership with Claremont police in the province.
“The Claremont CPF, in collaboration with its partners, will continue to work diligently in service of the community,” she said.
Claremont police station commander, Maree Louw, said she is proud of the improvement in the partnership that Claremont police have with their CPF.
“Although they are partly responsible for the oversight of police service delivery, we have a good understanding and solve all problems at our meetings,” she said.
Colonel Louw said the CPF is active in the community and is fighting crime hand in hand with the police. “As we need the community to be our eyes and ears,” she said.
