Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis spoke on possible solutions to South African challenges such as the energy crisis, water crisis, infrastructure and crime at Citadel wealth management company in Claremont last Wednesday. Mr Hill-Lewis shared plans to tackle these issues which included the R120 billion infrastructure investment, the roll-out of technology to fight crime, weaning the City off of Eskom and improving public transport with a strong focus on taking over the railway network. "When I took over as mayor, I asked myself how I could help to make the city more resilient and everything I had done till now - is to ensure that we build a resilient city. We need to prepare for a Cape Town with a 10 million population - thus the push for infrastructure development to ensure that we are ahead of the curve,“ he said.
