About 20 volunteers filled 250 garbage bags during a weekend clean-up of the railway line from Kenilworth to Harfield stations. The volunteers – including members of the Friends of Harfield Parks, Harfield Village Association and Metrorail staff – met at Kenilworth station, on Saturday morning, for the annual Harfield Railway clean-up. Friends committee member Gail Brown worked with George Kiewiets, of Metrorail, to set up the event. Francine Dieckmann, from the local ward committee, was at the clean-up and “was impressed by the cheerful way everyone pitched in and got the job done”.
