Fans take pictures of superhero action figures on display.
Thousands of people flocked to the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) over the weekend to let loose their inner geek at Comic Con Cape Town, which took place from Thursday April 27 to Sunday April 30.
The event took place over two halls, and included four stages and content zones. Speakers on all four days included international guests such as English actor David Oakes and American actresses Kat Graham and Tati Gabrielle, among others. There were also gaming experiences, and cosplay competitions for those who went all out with fandom costumes.
Hundreds of people flocked to the main stage for a Q&A with Kat Graham, known for her role as Bonnie in Vampire Diaries.Ryan Haw from George went all out with his costume.Caitlin Mittelmeyer from Pinelands and Zahra Bawa from Belthorne Estate in Athlone start a sword battle.Luke Sparg from Table View Joshua Weppelman and Bradley Wicks, both from the Eastern Cape.Kerenza Lunde and Lateesha Gillespie, both from Parow Fanie Mouton and Kyla Louw, both from Bellville, wore matching costumes, complete with a sythe.Darryn Bonthuys from Port Elizabeth and Tracy Benson from Johannesburg Mishkah Faas and Sadick Davids, both from Plumstead, were wizards for the day.Peach and Mario... Herman and Leandri Boock from Durbanville Corne Kotze came from Betty's Bay to enjoy the Comic Con.Tusk Love fans, Alix Rix from Parklands and Blake Kent from Blouberg Brandon Basson and Amy Webber, both from Retreat attracted lots of attention with the neon light costumes.Kids went crazy for Corne and Daren Nunns’ blob costumes.
