New chief at Mowbray police

Mowbray police station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Cleo Arnoldus, started in her new job last month.

Mowbray police have welcomed Lieutenant Colonel Cleo Arnoldus as their new station commander.

Lieutenant Colonel Arnoldus takes over from Lieutenant Colonel David Malong, who got promoted to colonel and is now the station commander of Malmesbury police station.

Originally from Lavender Hill, Lieutenant Colonel Arnoldus has 31 years of experience in the police force.

She originally worked at Hammanskraal and went on to serve at various other police stations including Steenberg, Grassy Park, Mitchell's Plain, Lansdowne, Lentegeur, Phillippi, Athlone and Strandfontein.

She has held senior positions as the acting station commander at Grassy Park police and operation commander for Mitchell's Plain police.

“I am honoured to take up the post as the Mowbray police station commander and I believe with the team I have and all the partners we will make a difference in the precinct,” says Lieutenant Colonel Arnoldus.

She wants Mowbay police to continue with the strong partnerships it has built with the Mowbray Community Policing Forum (CPF), private security, the different Community Improvement Districts and public officials.

“Mowbray police has a wonderful team but we cannot do it alone; we need our partners in the different spheres to assist. I believe with the help of the community and the different partnerships that are in existence, we will be able to bring Mowbray police precinct to greater heights.” 

Lieutenant Colonel Arnoldus started in her new job at the beginning of last month.
