Cannons Creek pupil excels in provincial parliament debate

Cannons Creek's Grade 11 pupil, Amarachi Zondi, represented her school in a Provincial Parliament debate on Saturday, August 23. Amarachi was there in her capacity as a member of the Junior City Council, where she is part of the media team. The topic debated was, “This house believes South Africa should shift its foreign policy direction in response to the changing global order.” Amarachi’s team opposed the motion and won the debate. She was in charge of research and rebuttals for her team. "It was an amazing opportunity and we really learnt a lot about how the South African government runs and the different spheres and arms," said Amarachi.
