While bad weather may have kept some runners in bed, close to a thousand runners gathered at the starting line for Nantes Athletic Club’s Heritage Day10km race, in Athlone, on Sunday. Pictured are some of the runners who took part.

Atlantic Athletic Club’s Betha Sitariko was first to cross the finish line in the women’s race at Sunday’s Nantes Heritage Day 10km run in Athlone, finishing in 37min07sec. Nedbank runner Kobie Griffiths finished second in 38min.48sec and Khayelitsha’s Pamela Moyikwa came home third in 39min.25sec. The men’s race was won by Nebank’s Bruce-Lynn Damons in 29.45sec followed by Tyme Bank Langa Athletic Club’s Ashley “Blokkie” Smith and teammate Rayden Balie, in second and third place respectively.
