Hamiltons Softball Club are champions of the Cape Town Softball Association's Men's Major League, Grand Challenge and Knockout competition.
Hamiltons Green completed the treble with a 9-3 win in the Knockout final against Southside Heat at the Turfhall Softball Stadium on Sunday, March 16.
In the Men's Grand Challenge, Hamiltons Green were unbeaten in six matches.
The Grand Challenge was a league setup made up of six teams; three that finished in the top half and three that finished in the bottom half of the league.
The top three teams were Hamiltons Green, Southside Heat and Pirates Softball Club. The bottom three teams were the Westridge Yankees, Devonshire Rovers and Hamilton Black.
Hamiltons Black, however, was pulled out of all competitions, by the club, due to the majority of the players (6-out-of-12) observing the Islamic fasting month of Ramadaan.
In the Men's Major League, Hamilton Green suffered two defeats. In the opening match, they lost 2-0 to Southside Heat, followed by a second defeat of 11-8 by the Westridge Yankees.
In 15 matches, Hamilton Green won 13 league games, amassing an 86.7% winning streak for the side from the Atlantic seaboard.
Present in the changing room, ahead of the Major League team's Knockout final, the youngsters from the second team echoed motivation for their senior team.
Hamiltons Grey won the First Division's Knockout competition earlier. They beat Pirates 12-0 in the final.
Club coach Nigel Kerchhoff was ecstatic about the results.
"What a way to end a magic season; one that can officially be compared to the dominating Hamiltons performances of years gone by. A great team filled with experience and youth but most of all a will to win. Hamiltons for life. In the words of the legendary Barend 'Doc' van Der Merwe, 'This game means nothing... on to the next one'," said Kerchhoff.
Experienced pitcher Moses Molapa helped Hamilton Green to win the CTSA's Major League Treble at the weekend.
