As the Western Province Super League B season draws to a thrilling conclusion, the battle for a sought-after top-six finish is heating up. Primrose continues to lead the charge, but there’s no room for complacency as the chasing bunch are fast closing in, with each weekend delivering critical clashes that reshape the playoff pictures.

This Saturday, all eyes turn to Lentegeur, where Collegians will square off against third-placed Kraaifontein in what promises to be a season-defining showdown. The stakes are high. For Collegians, currently eighth on the table, this is more than just a home fixture; it’s a golden opportunity to rejoin the playoff conversation. A victory would narrow the gap to the top six and inject fresh belief into their final push for qualification.

Kraaifontein, sitting comfortably in fourth with 44 points, will be looking to entrench their position and possibly climb even higher. But they’ll need to be wary of a Collegians side eager to bounce back after last weekend’s narrow 18-24 defeat to Belhar. Meanwhile, Goodwood, who are clinging to fifth place, also suffered a 25-35 setback against the high-flying Primrose at the Goodwood Sports Ground.

Primrose, taking a breather this weekend, will be happy with their recent hard-fought triumph. Flyhalf Gakeem Larney nailed two penalties and converted centre Taariq Albertus' try to give his side a 13-8 halftime lead. Goodwood’s Moegamat Burns responded with a try, while fullback Liam Cyster added a penalty.

After the break, Primrose turned up the heat, crossing the whitewash five more times through Achmat Albertus, Wahid Daniels, Leshwin Love, and Ghalied Damon.

With the league leaders on a bye, Saturday’s fixture between Collegians and Kraaifontein is sure to be a humdinger, and a five-point win could dramatically alter the standings. Expect a fierce, physical encounter in the heart of Mitchells Plain.
