Meerkats crowned national water polo club champs
Rondebosch Meerkats faced neighbours UCT in Sunday's SA Water Polo (SAWP) Cape Town Invitational finals, at Reddam House Constantia

In an all-Cape affair, Rondebosch Water Polo Club (Meerkats) beat UCT 19-6, at the SA Waterpolo (SAWP) Cape Town Invitational national tournament at Reddam House Constantia, over the weekend. In the women’s division, Stellenbosch University beat Claremont-based Warriors.
The tournament featured top national teams and coincided with the first AGM of the newly-formed SAWP, following their court victory against Swimming SA, the aquatic sports' official governing body, which they claimed failed to administer effectively. With the court's ruling in their favour, SAWP is now able to focus on the task at hand: action in the pool, the development of the sport at grassroots level, and competing at the highest level
