Ottoman Cricket Club netted a 44-run win against Claremont in Athlone this past weekend.
The win is Ottoman’s second victory over Claremont in their Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) one-day campaign this season.
The last time the two clubs met was on December 14 when Ottoman walked away 71-run victors.
This past weekend, all-rounders, Ishmaeel Prince and Zain Gallant had a good day in the middle.
Prince scored an unbeaten 60 runs to help bring about Ottoman’s sixth win in 11 matches.
Gallant picked up two wickets for 29 runs in 10 overs with the ball and scored 29 runs with the bat.
Mohamed Sohail Imran picked up three wickets for 27 runs in 7.3 overs, to help Ottoman move up to 28 points, in sixth position.
The bumpy result for Claremont, however, keeps them on 29 points, in fourth position for this week. Claremont play Cape Town Cricket Club on Saturday January 18.
Ottoman play Kraaifontein on Saturday and Durbanville on Sunday.
